Nymphaea was created in 2025 by students at Indiana University - Bloomington: Prototyping Specialist and Photographer Jesse Kogge, Biodesign Specialist Toryn White, and Project Leader and Coordinator Carina Wang. The device was developed as part of a Materials Design course taught by Professor Maxwell Fertik in the Eskenazi's School of Art, Architecture + Design's Comprehensive Design program.
Nymphaea was featured at the 2025 Biodesign Challenge held at Parsons School of Design and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, NY.
